"Teach only those things which
strictly align with
SOUND DOCTRINE"

(Titus 2:1)

The Biblical Doctrines Embraced by Living WORD Church

Our Central Doctrine

At Living WORD Church, our CENTRAL DOCTRINE is the CROSS of JESUS CHRIST.  That is, the all-encompassing work of Redemption accomplished by JESUS CHRIST through His atoning death on the cross of Calvary, His burial in a borrowed tomb, His triumphant resurrection and His majestic exaltation.  (Romans 5:10; 1 Corinthians. 15:3-5; Philippians 2:8-10).  By this finished work of Redemption CHRIST has provided for our full and complete salvation.  All the demands, purposes, and expectations of GOD have been once for all,  gloriously achieved by CHRIST alone.  GOD's Great Redemptive Plan of the Ages may now be perfectly consummated as His redeeming power is daily at work in the lives of individual believers who eagerly await His future ultimate victory at the end of this present age.  (1 Corinthians 1:30; Revelation 21:6)

Our Cardinal Doctrines

Of all our essential beliefs, LWC recognizes four CARDINAL DOCTRINES as being of particular importance.  They are:

1.   JESUS SAVES!  (Hebrews 7:25)

2.  JESUS HEALS!  (1 Peter 2:24)

3.  JESUS BAPTIZES WITH THE HOLY GHOST!  (Luke 3:16)

4.  JESUS IS COMING AGAIN! (Hebrews 9:28)

Our Distinctive Doctrine

One of the many Biblical truths we preach and teach and believe at LWC is that which Paul the Apostle himself spoke of quite effectively in chapter 14 of first Corinthians, verse 18:  "I thank my GOD I speak in unknown tongues."  LWC's distinctive doctrine is SPEAKING IN TONGUES.  Unique to Pentecostal Churches is our adherence to the Scriptural pattern of the New Testament concerning the Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the HOLY GHOST -- the first outward sign that a believer has received the HOLY SPIRIT according to Acts 2:4.   The baptism of believers in the HOLY SPIRIT is witnessed by the initial physical evidence of speaking with other tongues as the SPIRIT of GOD supernaturally gives the  utterance as described in Acts 2:4; 10:44-47; 19:1-6.  The "speaking in tongues" in these three instances is the same in essence as the "gift of tongues" referred to in 1 Corinthians 12:4-10, 28 as well as the  "praying in tongues" mentioned in 1 Corinthians 14:14,15.  The Scriptures clearly teach there are different  purposes and uses, but always SPEAKING IN UNKNOWN TONGUES is only by the supernatural utterance of the SPIRIT of GOD after a believer has been baptized in the HOLY GHOST.
